Dolphin Introduces Browser-Based Software
Dolphin Imaging and Management Solutions recently announced Blue, a browser-based web application of all core Dolphin functions.

Blue is designed for the orthodontic practice, and there are plans to add features for pediatric dental and oral maxillofacial practices in the near future. The application can accommodate a large number of patients with no performance degradations, while supporting multiple clinicians and office locations. Blue also works well with smaller, less complex practice operations.

Blue connects to the Microsoft Cloud platform, allowing offices to access data from nearly anywhere at any time. It requires no plug-ins or on-site computer servers, works on all popular operating systems, and runs on PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones. Blue also offers automatic software updates and features, automated backups and an unlimited amount of storage capacity.

Blue is available in two tiers. Blue Imaging includes all imaging and patient communications such as 2D photos and radiograph capture and archiving, image annotations, cephalometric tracings and measurements, Aquarium patient education movies, and patient letters with images. Blue Enterprise includes the Blue Imaging feature set plus a customizable practice dashboard with programmable widgets and practice management features such as scheduling, financials, treatment card/charting, patient questionnaires, SMS, electronic claims, appointment reminders (via SMS or email), care calls, electronic signature and practice reporting.

3M Will Use uLab Systems’ Software in Aligner Therapy Cases
3M recently announced its exclusive North American license of uLab Systems’ treatment planning software for aligner therapy.

uLab, a privately held digital dental company, has developed automated treatment planning software to support in-office aligner treatment. The uLab software platform is designed to import 3D digital scans and allows orthodontic professionals to develop a treatment plan in 10 minutes.

Customers who want 3M to create a treatment plan will submit cases through the 3M Oral Care portal, a web-based treatment management and ordering interface. The uLab software will be fully integrated with 3M’s Oral Care portal, making it easy to upload files for 3M to produce and deliver the aligners.
