G&H Wire Company and Orthodontic Design & Production, Inc., Announce New Partnership.
The recent merger of G&H Wire Company with Orthodontic
Design & Production, Inc., (ODP) has resulted in one new entity
– now called G&H Orthodontics – that is now able to offer what
G&H President and CEO Russ Trenary says is perhaps the most
comprehensive line of American-manufactured orthodontic products
available in the industry. Orthotown Magazine sat down with
Trenary to learn more about the merger, and how it will impact
independent distributors and orthodontists alike.
Why did you choose ODP as your new partner?
Trenary: First off, ODP's brand is globally synonymous with
quality, reliability and trust. The breadth of ODP's product line
and the expertise of its management and staff are all aimed at
providing excellence in an area of orthodontics where G&H did
not previously possess manufacturing capabilities. Combined,
the two companies create a fully integrated, comprehensive
orthodontic manufacturing entity to the benefit of orthodontists
and independent distributors around the world. The combined
company's global distribution network now encompasses more
than 80 countries, ensuring that our entire product line is readily
available to orthodontic practices across the globe.
What makes your merger with ODP unique in the
orthodontic industry?
Trenary: Our business is designed to service the independent
orthodontic distributor and practitioners alike. Many other
mergers service only the customers of the acquiring entity, which
does not typically include the independent orthodontic distributor.
By merging with ODP, we have expanded our product offering
to include American-made orthodontic bands, brackets and
buccal tubes, in addition to the top quality wires and elastomerics
for which G&H is widely recognized. Additionally, when you
take into consideration our popular Ortho Club wholesale program,
we believe we are a truly unique full-line orthodontic manufacturing
entity that is difficult to duplicate.
Can you explain what Ortho Club is, and how it
impacts your customers?
Trenary: Ortho Club offers an extensive line of brand-name
clinical supplies at wholesale prices. To the orthodontist, it
translates to daily products such as gloves, cold sterilizing solutions,
impression trays and literally thousands of other such
items. The unique buying opportunity provided through Ortho
Club allows our customers to reduce operating and inventory costs on more than 6,000 brand-name clinical, hygienic, lab and patient supplies that orthodontists need to run their clinical
businesses. We pride ourselves on offering the entire gamut of
orthodontic supplies necessary for a successful practice, and
based on overwhelmingly positive customer reactions, we are
excited about this aspect of our business moving forward.
What effect will the combined companies have on
independent distributors and individual orthodontic
practices?
Trenary: Independent distributors can expect best-in-class
service, high quality, American-made orthodontic appliances
and an all-encompassing product line that includes everything a
distributor would need to service an orthodontist's account.
Individual orthodontists, who benefit from easy and direct
access to our product line, now have the attractive alternative of
working with independent distributors that can provide the
entire line of products required to achieve maximum patient
results and, in return, thriving, more profitable practices.
What is your goal with the newly formed company,
and how do you see it impacting the orthodontic
profession moving forward?
Trenary: Our goal is to be recognized worldwide as the
company that delivers the highest quality, most reliable supply,
with the greatest breadth in products that are required for any
orthodontic practice. This gives the independent distributor and
orthodontist a convenient one-stop shop where all core products
are manufactured in the United States, by a single company.
Feedback from orthodontists worldwide is that they know and
trust the quality and reliability of American-made orthodontic
products. In this industry, America has always stood for quality.
Moving forward, we are committed to remaining a company that
is synonymous with reliability, trust and quality. We will achieve
this through the hard work and dedication of our team, with a
focus on advancing the science of orthodontic treatment to the
benefit of orthodontists, distributors and patients around the
world. We look forward to continuing our long-standing tradition
of creating mutually beneficial partnerships with independent
orthodontic distributors, and the individual orthodontists
who depend on our products to keep their practices thriving.
