SWITZERLAND—Curaden, an oral hygiene company based in Switzerland, is partnering with the International Team for Implantology (ITI), an academic organization promoting evidence-based education and research in implant dentistry. Together, the partners, who have signed a sponsorship agreement, want to make greater advances in prevention and care. For example, the so-called peri-implantitis is to be combated.

This destructive inflammatory process can attack the soft and hard tissues surrounding dental implants and is responsible for much personal suffering and high healthcare costs.

Curaden is one of the first sponsoring partners in a new ITI initiative aimed at building longer-term relationships with a small number of companies in the industry. Curaden will work more closely with the ITI for an initial period of three years. The agreement will primarily cover ITI congresses and symposia, as well as the provision of education materials to the ITI community in its field of expertise.
