SMILE FOR A LIFETIME FOUNDATION HOLDS ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENT WITH SPONSORS ORMCO AND TELEVOX

Casino Night and Silent Auction at Ormco’s Damon Forum Will Help Raise Money for Underserved Individuals with Orthodontic Needs

PHOENIX (Jan. 13, 2012)—The Smile for a Lifetime Foundation (S4L), a national non-profit organization that provides orthodontic care to individuals with financial challenges and special orthodontic needs, announced today that it will hold its annual Casino Night fundraising event during Ormco’s 11th Annual Damon Forum, a practice-building conference that is designed specifically for orthodontists. The fundraiser will take place Friday, Jan. 20 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. MST and will be hosted by S4L sponsors Ormco and TeleVox.

“Last year we raised more than $70,000 at the Damon Forum fundraising event, and we look forward to exceeding that number in 2012,” said Michelle Von Fange, Executive Director of S4L. “We have a fun and fast-paced evening planned and are grateful to the many donors who provided appealing items for the Casino Night’s silent auction, such as i-Pad2s, gift baskets, custom jewelry and hand-made pottery, hotel and condo stays across the country and in Mexico, and professional business services designed to increase and strengthen your practice.”

In addition to a silent auction, this year’s fundraiser will feature casino games and a poker table with professional players Tom Schneider and Kevin O’Donnell—whose combined poker winnings total at close to $3 million—where playing tips will be shared with attendees upon a donation. Other activities include raffle drawings throughout the evening. All proceeds from the event will help S4L achieve its mission to create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of underserved children by dramatically improving their smiles with orthodontic care—free of cost.

“As Smile for a Lifetime’s corporate sponsor, we’ve seen first-hand how improving a smile with orthodontic treatment can transform a child’s life,” said Vicente Reynal, president of Ormco. “We hold philanthropic efforts close to our hearts and truly believe in supporting a foundation that gives the gift of a smile and self-esteem—we look forward to hosting the fundraiser and raising money for such a special cause.”
“It is an absolute honor to be affiliated with Smile for a Lifetime, an organization that is truly making a difference in the lives of children,” said Scott Zimmerman, president of TeleVox. “We are thrilled to be able to support the efforts of the many orthodontists across the country who give their time and expertise to provide treatment. This fun-filled evening will be a wonderful way to spread the word about such a worthwhile cause.”

As primary sponsor of S4L, Ormco provides free brackets and wires to the orthodontists who award S4L scholarships to underserved children across the country. TeleVox’s sponsorship involves the creation and maintenance of S4L’s website.

About Smile for a Lifetime Foundation
The mission of S4L is to create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of children in their communities in a dramatic way. The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving, underserved individual who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and their community. During treatment, many S4L local chapters also encourage scholarship recipients to participate in community service through a “pay it forward” program inspiring young people to participate in life-long giving.

Currently, there are 94 chapters serving 34 states across the U.S. with movement to increase those numbers to over 200 chapters, covering 50 states and Canada in the next five years. Each chapter commits to serve at least six or more young people annually. By the end of 2012, some 800 to 1000 young people will have received the gift of a smile with over four to six million dollars of orthodontic services donated.
