Editorial Board Members

Dr. Kevin Baharvand is the founder of White Glove Orthodontist (WGO) and the owner and orthodontist at Elate Orthodontics in Dallas–Fort Worth. In collaboration with other dental groups, Baharvand has successfully initiated multiple orthodontic startups, overseeing every detail. His diverse background—including clinical acumen, and a master’s degree in organizational leadership—serves as the foundation of WGO. Baharvand’s mission is to make startup consulting more comprehensive, fostering the independence of orthodontic practices while ensuring affordability.

Dr. Courtney Barry is a board-certified orthodontist who practices in New York at her private practice, Smile Pop. Barry got her start at Southern Illinois University, where she received a Doctor of Dental Medicine, and upon graduating continued her education with a one-year fellowship in orthodontics at the University of Florida and a three-year orthodontic specialty training at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

Sebastian Baumgaertel, DMD, MSD, FRCD(C), received his orthodontic education at Case Western Reserve University, where he now holds the position of assistant clinical professor and is co-director of the sub-specialty clinic for skeletal anchorage. In addition, Dr. Baumgaertel maintains an active private practice in the Cleveland area. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a certified orthodontic specialist in Germany.

Dr. Susan Blair, a member of Orthotown’s editorial advisory board, is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a board-certified orthodontist. Blair owns two pediatric dental/orthodontic offices in the Chicago area with her husband, orthodontist Dr. Nick Riccio; before that, she worked as a pediatric dentist for 10 years in private pediatric dental and combined pediatric/orthodontic offices.

Dr. Wassim Bouzid received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Algeria’s Constantine University in 2007, then earned his master’s degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from Wuhan University in China. He owns OrthoVision, a practice in Constantine, and is board-certified in Algeria. A member of the second Pitts Master Program and an international speaker in orthodontics, Bouzid has lectured in more than 20 countries and published several articles. He also is a professional photographer and is certified in digital smile design.

Dr. Chris Cetta is a boardcertified orthodontist practicing at Hess Orthodontics in Sarasota and Parrish, Florida. He hosts “The Illuminate Orthodontic Podcast” and often speaks on orthodontic innovation and clinical products. Cetta is the co-inventor of Precision Aligner Buttons by DynaFlex and serves on the clinical advisory council for The Journal of Clinical Orthodontics as well as the editorial advisory board for Orthotown. His work has appeared in leading publications. Cetta resides in sunny St. Petersburg, Florida, with his wife, Nicole, and their dog, Jagger.

Dr. Michael K. DeLuke is a board-certified orthodontist who received his specialty training at the University of Connecticut. DeLuke practiced for 18 years before retiring from private practice to teach full time. He has served as a faculty member at several hospitals and orthodontic residencies and is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Nova Southeastern University. He is also host of The DOC Podcast.

Dr. Mike DePascale, New Jersey native, received his orthodontic master’s degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. In 2017, he joined the team at Kozlowski Orthodontics, a practice that matched his dedication to high-quality treatment, innovation, efficiency, and education. When DePascale is not in the office, you can find him in his garage gym or coaching CrossFit at a local gym, where he puts to use his passion for personal growth, leadership, and commitment to others. He believes in pushing boundaries, doing what you love and sharing that with the world.

Dr. John Graham, a Damon System provider and educator, is a practicing orthodontist in Litchfield Park, Arizona. Graham is a renowned innovator and educator in the field, lecturing worldwide to both doctors and staff on the most advanced orthodontic treatment philosophies available. He is the co-author of several orthodontic textbook chapters, has written many professional journal articles, and sits on several editorial boards. He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Medical Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Arizona Dental Association, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and the Progressive Orthodontic Study Club.

Dr. Daniel J. Grob completed his dental, orthodontic and prosthodontic schooling at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. He has practiced in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona, for more than four decades. Grob is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association, and the former editorial director of Orthotown magazine.

Dr. Edmund Khoo, BDSc (Hons), ABO board-certified, FICD, FACD, FNYAM, is chair and clinical professor at CTOR Academy in Hoboken, New Jersey. Previously, he taught orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at his alma mater, New York University. Khoo has published in several journals and been invited to chair numerous scientific sessions. His awards and achievements include the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation T.M. Graber Teaching Fellowship Award, the Academy of Distinguished Educators Faculty Award, and the Faculty Council Teaching Recognition Award. He was the previous chair and councilor of the American Dental Education Association Section on Orthodontics and has served on committees in various professional organizations.

Dr. Ashley Kisling is a board-certified orthodontist and the owner of a pediatric dentistry and orthodontic practice in Southern California. Kisling earned a bachelor’s degree in public health sciences at UC Irvine in 2011 and a DDS from UCLA in 2015, then completed her three-year orthodontic residency program in Georgia.

Dr. Glenn Krieger graduated from dental school in 1992 and moved to Seattle in 1996, where he established a solo boutique practice. After 20 years as a restorative and cosmetic dentist, Krieger returned to residency to become an orthodontist. He maintains a private orthodontic practice in Lewisville, Texas. Krieger has presented to thousands of dentists in North America, has been published in textbooks and dental periodicals and has been named a “Top Clinician in Continuing Education” nine times. He also is the administrator of Orthopreneurs, a group dedicated to helping orthodontists run their practices with an entrepreneurial bent.

Dr. Bryan Lockhart is a board-certified orthodontist with two practices in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he practices with his wife and fellow orthodontist, Dr. Lauren Rennick Lockhart. He attended dental school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a certificate in orthodontics from Jacksonville (Florida) University. A frequent speaker on digital orthodontics, Lockhart also has developed his own clear aligner brand, Dualine, and holds patents for an orthognathic device and a practice management software program. He is also a member of the LightForce clinical executive board.

Dr. Jeremy Manuele is an orthodontist and course director of the MARPE 360 online CE course. He holds a DMD from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a certificate in orthodontics from LSU Health Science Center and is board-certified. With 21.5 years of service in the Army National Guard, including a deployment to Ramadi, Iraq, Manuele brings a unique perspective to his work. As a partner orthodontist at Hamilton & Manuele Orthodontics, he leads in advanced techniques like in-office aligner fabrication, digital indirect bonding, laser welding and MARPE/TAD procedures. He also serves as a part-time faculty member at UNLV School of Dental Medicine, shaping the future of orthodontics.

Dr. Jeffrey C. Miller is a board-certified orthodontist with more than 40 years of clinical experience. He speaks both nationally and internationally on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and its applications in orthodontic analysis and treatment planning.

Dr. Trevor Nichols attended Arizona State University, where he completed a bachelor’s degree in science and fitness and graduated as valedictorian. He then attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH) for his doctoral training, where he served as class president. While there, he also completed a certificate in dental public health. After obtaining his DMD, Nichols completed his specialty training in orthodontics at ASDOH and earned a master’s degree while completing research on TMD. He has also received inaugural awards in clinical excellence and leadership. Nichols is involved in organized orthodontics and, as a lecturer, educates other orthodontists and residents in the creation of beautiful, healthy, life-lasting smiles.

Dr. Jonathan Nicozisis completed his dental education at the University of Pennsylvania before attending Temple University for his orthodontic residency. During his training, he also completed an externship at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he was involved with the care of patients with craniofacial syndromes.

Dr. Christos Papadopoulos is an orthodontist in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada. He serves on several professional committees in the AAO, CAO and NESO, and is a member of the editorial advisory board of Orthotown. He is the founder of PapadopSmiles Orthodontics and has authored several articles. He recently served as an alternate delegate representing NESO at the AAO House of Delegates meeting in Philadelphia and is part of the AAO’s National Advocacy Network.

Dr. Nick Riccio is a board-certified orthodontist who trained at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He co-owns and operates a dual-service pedo-ortho practice in Hinsdale, Illinois, with his dual board-certified wife, Dr. Susan Blair. He and Susan were honored with the distinction of “40 under 40” by Incisal Edge magazine. Riccio cofounded and runs a de novo study club called “Masterminds,” exploring a wide range of topics from clinical innovations to practice management to health and wellness topics.

Dr. David Richter is in private practice in Greeley, Colorado, and has been named a Top Dentist by 5280 magazine every year since 2014. Richter is a scientific advisor for KLOwen and a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, the Spear Study Club, the Mountain West Dental Forum, and the Seattle Study Club. He also holds a patent for a visual articulator, which allows dentists to navigate 3D data to help correct jaw movement, and has a patent pending for an advanced retainer design.

Dr. Andrew Sarpotdar is a board-certified orthodontist in private practice with his wife, Dr. Jenny Sun, in the greater Phoenix area. He attended dental school at UCLA before earning a master’s degree in orthodontics from Columbia University in 2013. Sarpotdar is a co-founder of the Orthodontic Pearls Facebook group, along with its corresponding annual meeting, the Mother of Pearls Conference, and is a strong advocate for collegiality and shared learning within the profession.

Dr. Ilies Tibaoui is in private practice with his wife in Algiers, Algeria. He is also a member and instructor of the Pitts Master Program. Because of the important roles management and communication play in orthodontics, Tibaoui is particularly interested in organizational and behavioral psychology. He specializes in teaching aesthetics and beauty for orthodontists, the Pitts Protocol, blending extraradicular TADs with passive self-ligating brackets for complex cases, digital smile design, emotional dentistry, and communication.

Dr. Adith Venugopal is a senior lecturer of orthodontics in the faculty of dentistry at the University at Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Venugopal has published several scientific studies and clinical reports in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, and has been the keynote speaker at many international orthodontic congresses.
