International Conference Addresses 3M Incognito System and Clinical Applications
More than 150 orthodontists from 25 countries attended the 2017 Incognito Appliance System International User Meeting in Paris this October.

Representing five continents, 13 experts in lingual treatment shared and discussed the Incognito system’s benefits. A fully customized, invisible fixed orthodontic appliance system, the system features robot-bent archwires and low-profile appliances that deliver efficient and effective treatment outcomes designed to optimize patient comfort.

For nearly 10 years, 3M has hosted international lingual treatment user meetings to encourage educational activities about theoretical applications and to share practical technique recommendations that can help make the system work well in the practice.

Since its introduction in 2009, more than 140,000 patients have been treated successfully with the 3M Incognito Appliance System.

Ultradent Named 2017 International Company of the Year
Ultradent recently accepted the award for the 2017 International Company of the Year at the Utah Global Forum Meeting.

Each year, business and political leaders from around the state gather to present and learn about developing international business and export strategy, as well as tap into new markets. The International Company of the Year Award honors one company and one individual for excellence in these areas, as well as global citizenship and humanitarianism. Nominations are submitted by parties not employed or affiliated with the nominee.

Upon accepting the award, Ultradent founder and CEO Dr. Dan Fischer shared that the company, founded by family, has grown to employ 1,600 people in 10 countries. The company does its own research and development, machining, injection molding, and primary and secondary packaging and mailing.

ToothShower Reaches Kickstarter Goal in First 28 Hours
ToothShower, an oral care solution for the shower created by a dental hygienist, launched its first Kickstarter campaign on Oct. 17. The company met its $25,000 goal in the first 28 hours and raised more than $82,000.

Using water from the shower, ToothShower cleans 100 percent of teeth surfaces, as compared with 60 percent with average brushing. The product works especially well for braces to pinpoint spots that a toothbrush can’t reach. Along with a base that attaches to the shower wall, there are three attachments: a dual-headed toothbrush, an irrigating tip and a gum massager. The dual-headed toothbrush hits the front, back and sides of teeth, and the irrigating tip flushes water between teeth. The gum massager works with seven jets of water to stimulate important blood flow in the gums, which is a huge part of preventing, and even healing, gum disease.
