3Shape and OrthoApnea Create Digital Workflow
3Shape, a 3D scanner and CAD/CAM global dental software provider, and OrthoApnea, a designer and manufacturer of oral appliances for sleep apnea and snoring, have created a digital workflow and online communication system for doctors to provide sleep treatment to their patients.
The collaboration enables doctors using the 3Shape Trios intraoral scanner to upload digital impressions to ApneaDock, an online platform developed by OrthoApnea. The ApneaDock platform creates a digital communication channel between 3Shape Trios doctors and OrthoApnea’s sleep therapies. The digital connection enables a faster production workflow, which in turn gets patients into sleep therapy more quickly. Doctors can also use the channel to manage their cases and communicate with OrthoApnea technicians.
The platform includes tutorials on how to evaluate and assess patients, scan, take measurements and order treatments. The platform also stores patients’ sleep treatment clinical history, including all uploaded 3Shape scans.
