Cantel to Acquire Hu-Friedy
Cantel Medical, a provider of instrument reprocessing and infection prevention products and services, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Hu-Friedy, a 111-year-old manufacturer of instruments and instrument reprocessing workflow systems serving the dental industry. After closing, Cantel will combine Hu-Friedy with its dental division, Crosstex, a provider of infection prevention, sterility assurance, dental water management and conscious sedation systems.

Ron Saslow, chairman and CEO of Hu-Friedy, and Ken Serota, president of Hu-Friedy, will lead the combined dental business after the deal closes. Gary Steinberg, who has built the Cantel dental division since the acquisition of Crosstex, will assist in the transition and integration of these two businesses, then retire at the end of the calendar year.

EasyRx Announces Acquisition of Jenmar International
EasyRx, a cloud-based universal lab prescription, digital workflow and 3D software platform, has completed its acquisition of laboratory management software provider Jenmar International. The combined company will offer solutions to connect practices and labs using the EasyRx universal lab prescription, digital workflow and 3D software platform, along with cloud-based lab management software solutions.

Planmeca USA Moves U.S. Headquarters to Larger Facility
Planmeca USA, a manufacturer of dental imaging and CAD/CAM equipment, recently moved its North American headquarters to a larger, high-tech facility that will house advanced training. The 90,000-square-foot facility in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, is more than 13,000 square feet bigger than the previous location.

The new office will host a testing and distribution center as well as the Planmeca Digital Academy, which includes a showroom and a training and education facility. The additional marketing and education functions now in the Dallas location will transition to the Hoffman Estates headquarters.

The Planmeca Digital Academy education center will host a variety of courses and hands-on training to support the needs of dealer partners and customers. With the academy’s new design, the space will be more personal and offer advanced technology.

The company will host a grand opening in early 2020 to showcase the new space, showroom and academy.
