Georgia School of Orthodontics Expands Role of President and Board Chairman
Dr. Randy Kluender has assumed a full-time position at Georgia School of Orthodontics’ Atlanta campus. In an expanded role as president and chairman of the Board of Trustees at GSO, he will serve as on-site liaison and support to GSO’s orthodontic residents and faculty.

Kluender brings more than 40 years of clinical, educational and administrative experience to his position. During his tenure as a faculty member and administrator at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, he secured more than $2.5?million in grant funding, most of which was used to initiate programs to help people in need.

Kluender, who participated in the American Dental Education Association’s Leadership Institute, was selected for ADEA’s Harry Bruce Legislative Fellowship in Washington, D.C. He worked on legislative issues involving oral health, informing legislators about the relationship of oral health and general health, diversity in the health care workforce, student indebtedness and financial aid, and funding for dental schools in the United States.

Align Technology Launches ClinCheck In-Face Visualization for Invisalign Go
Align Technology recently launched the ClinCheck In-Face Visualization tool for the Invisalign Go system, which incorporates a front-facing smile image of a patient’s face into the ClinCheck treatment plan. Initially available with the Invisalign Go system, the visualization tool will roll out across the Invisalign portfolio throughout the year as the technology is optimized.

With the tool, doctors can generate a clinical visualization of their patient’s teeth within an image of their face. Doctors can then use the visual as a guide in consultations to educate patients, highlight the benefits of teeth straightening, and visualize and discuss the optimal clear aligner treatment option for each patient.

Accessing the new tool requires the Invisalign Photo Uploader application to capture digital photos of a patient. Photos are uploaded to the Invisalign Doctor Site, where the tool merges the patient’s front-facing smile photo with the ClinCheck treatment plan model. Doctors can then compare side-by-side before-and-after photos, share multiple treatment plans, and adjust the treatment plan and refresh the “in-face” view.
