OrthoFX, a startup that partners with dentists and orthodontists, has unveiled new clear aligner technologies with a unique practice financial model. OrthoFX aligners are formulated with FXTetra technology combining a proprietary plastic formulation and an elastomeric middle layer to provide ideal forces for tooth movement along with patient comfort, stain resistance and clarity. The company also announced FXOnTrack, a platform that enables virtual consultations, remote treatment monitoring, concierge support from the OrthoFX clinical team and sensor-based wear-time tracking.
In addition, OrthoFX’s financial model eliminates the lab bill associated with traditional clear aligner companies and pays the clinician within days of starting a case.
DIBS AI Software
OrthoSelect has announced the nationwide availability of its new DIBS AI software for orthodontic practices. The integrated software platform largely automates the process of orthodontic patient case setups, provides predictive outcomes for treatment plans and offers the latest in print technology with accurate 3D-printed bracket transfer appliances.
Utilizing 32 patent-pending algorithms and the latest in artificial intelligence capability, DIBS AI software uses standard STL files imported from virtually any intraoral scanner to rapidly clean images, segment teeth and propose ideal bracket placement. Doctors can choose their preferred stock bracket or select customized options for treatment tailored to their patients’ specific needs. Using predictive modeling, the software will then determine and display the case outcome based on the chosen treatment plan.
CS 8200 3D
The CS 8200 3D by Carestream Dental is a multi-modality system that includes 2D panoramic imaging, CBCT imaging, 3D object scanning and optional cephalometric imaging with the added enhancements of larger FOVs and advanced algorithms.
Six selectable FOVs, from 4cm by 4cm to 12cm by 10cm, cover daily clinical applications and more advanced treatments. The new extended volume sizes—12cm by 5cm and 12cm by 10cm—can capture full arch images, including third molars, in a single scan for performing complex implant cases, periodontics, oral surgery and orthodontics.
Tomosharp technology generates sharp panoramic images, even when the patient is not perfectly aligned. Advanced noise reduction reduces image noise while preserving clinical details. Optional CS MAR software reduces metal artifacts caused by implants and dental fillings and provides a unique tool to compare live images with and without CS MAR applied.
