BURRIS CREATES ORTHODONTIC FOUNDATION
(JONESBORO, ARKANSAS) Residents of Northeast Arkansas now have another reason to smile.
Dr. Benjamin G. Burris, or Orthodontics by the Fergus-Burris Team, announced his intent to file for non-profit status for the recently formed Smile for a Lifetime, Inc. Burris created the foundation to provide braces at no cost to individuals who cannot afford them.
“The mission of Smile for a Lifetime Foundation is to create self-confidence, inspire hope and change the lives of children in our community in a dramatic way,” Burris explains. “The gift of a smile can do all this for a deserving, under-served individual who, in turn, can use this gift to better themselves and our community”, he continued.
Beginning in the first year, the foundation will award two sets of braces and orthodontic treatments per month totaling twenty-four individuals served who would not otherwise have orthodontic care. For an application, please e-mail smileforalifetime@yahoo.com or call 870-897-8868.
Burris is a 2001 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Memphis - College of Dentistry, as well as a 2004 graduate from the Department of Orthodontics.
Community involvement and professional leadership are a big part of Burris’ life. He is the founder of Arkansas Business in Dentistry Association. He is also a member of American Association of Orthodontist, Southwestern Association of Orthodontist, Arkansas Association of Orthodontist, the American Dental Association and the Arkansas State Dental Association. In addition, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
