SURESMILE TECHNOLOGY ADDS CAPABILITIES

LINGUAL TREATMENT, CBCT IMAGING KEY NEW FEATURES

Richardson, TX.; March 10, 2009 --OraMetrix, a leading provider of technology-based orthodontic care solutions, unveiled the latest advancements in its innovative SureSmile® system, which combines 3-D diagnostic imaging with computerized treatment plan modeling and robotic archwire bending, at their annual Users Conference in San Diego Friday, February 27. "SureSmile 5.7" was introduced to a national audience of SureSmile orthodontists, and will be available for commercial use, May 1, 2009. Among the many new capabilities of "SureSmile 5.7" software is its compatibility with lingual treatment and more flexibility in its integration with diagnostic CBCT scans.

The demand forlingual orthodontic treatment, anoption for patients concerned with aesthetics where the brackets and wires are placed on the backside of the teeth and out of view, is growing. "SureSmile 5.7" software can now create a 3-D computer model for the orthodontist to develop a treatment plan and custom precision archwires for lingual treatment.

"With SureSmile, the most difficult and time consuming part of the lingual treatment -- bending and adjusting of the wires on the backside of the teeth -- is removed making it a better experience for both orthodontist and patient," say Ed Lin,D.D.S., of Orthodontic Specialists of Green Bay.

"SureSmile 5.7" also extends the system's ability to create 3-D computer models from Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scans to now accommodate all patients, regardless of the amount of intra-oral metal. The new approach for patients with metal crowns or large metal fillings, combines a partial intra-oral scan with the CBCT scan to form the 3-D computer model. A CBCT scan takes just a few seconds and delivers better data for the orthodontist to diagnose treatment. Last year, SureSmile brought to market the first-ever capability to transform a CBCT scan image of the mouth and teeth into a 3-D computer model, providing a more complete picture of the teeth - virtually a volume of images which show the full tooth, including roots as well as the density of bone and tissue.

"We are continuously evolving SureSmile as orthodontists gain more experience in applying digital technology to patient treatment. OraMetrix is committed to maintaining our position at the forefront of the digital revolution in orthodontics," says Charles Abraham, CEO.
