DR. DAVID CARTER OF AUGUSTA, GEORGIA NAMED
PRESIDENT OF NATIONAL FOUNDATION
SMILE FOR A LIFETIME, INC., a nonprofit orthodontic foundation, recently named Dr. David B. Carter of August, GA as their first National Board President.
Smile for a Lifetime was founded in 2008 by Dr.. Benjamin G. Burris of Jonesboro, Arkansas. “Initially, we wanted to give back to my community in a way that could change a child’s life in a positive way forever. Our local success was incredible” stated Burris. “At the prompting of my family, friends and colleagues, I envisioned Smile for a Lifetime spreading across the nation. After receiving endorsement from one of the top orthodontic societies in the country, I knew Smile for a Lifetime needed a dynamic national board of directors with leadership at the top.. Dr. David Carter, of Augusta, Georgia, name was repeatedly recommended to me.”
“Dr. Carter and I are both second generation orthodontists” states Burris. “Carter is devoted to the patients he serves and he contains the vision, compassion and leadership necessary to lead Smile for a Lifetime to provide free braces for thousands of children across our nation.”
Smile for a Lifetime’s mission is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children. The gift of a smile can do all this for an underserved individual who can use this gift to better themselves and our communities. Smile for a Lifetime provides free braces for those who otherwise would not have the opportunity to obtain them.
“I knew immediately I wanted to be a part of this foundation,” Carter said. “The Smile for a Lifetime foundation model provides a local board to choose local applicants. What an amazing way to serve my profession, community and nation of children.”
