3-D Congress Celebrates Continued Success

The 3rd International Congress on 3-D Dental Imaging achieved its goal this year: Deliver an expanded scope of education covering increased treatment services through clinical teamwork and 3-D planning applications to boost better patient care and practice growth.

Hatfield, PA/Des Plaines, IL (July 22, 2009) The 3rd International Congress on 3-D Dental Imaging, sponsored by Imaging Sciences International and Gendex Dental Systems, held this year in Chicago, Illinois, garnered both record attendance and extensive dental media interest. A variety of clinicians and professionals from nearly all dental specialties attended the sessions, taught by leaders experienced in practical applications of this dynamic technology that benefits both patients and dental practices.

The 2-day Congress utilized lectures and discussions to allow for participation and interaction between participants and speakers.  The hands-on experience of the speakers offered a glimpse into the advantages of this technology. “I’m big on technology because the right technology can have a tremendous impact on your patients,” said speaker, Dr. John Flucke. He added that this 3-D phase of dentistry will allow the industry to achieve even higher standards of care.

Dr. Walter Chitwood also shared his observations during his presentation on, “Creating Better Communication with Technology.”  He noted, “Staying aware of the latest innovations in our field by attending conferences such as this event—the 3-D Congress, taking CE classes, and reading dental journals are just a few ways that we can gain insight into groundbreaking technologies to better serve our patients.”

Affirming that continuing education is an important factor in 3-D technology, the moderator of the event, Dr. Scott D. Ganz, explained that, as with any new technology, its standard of care needs to be defined. He states, “It’s an ever-expanding learning experience.”

Also in attendance was Chuck Ravetto, Vice President of Marketing for Imaging Sciences and Gendex. He noted that implementation of 3-D radiography is rapidly growing and dentists are eager to learn about its benefits and practical applications. He states “We are proud to offer such a powerfully informative program that provides real-world clinical and practical advice.”

Imaging Sciences and Gendex also announced the upcoming 4th International Congress on 3-D Dental Imaging, on June 25-26 in La Jolla, California. For more information, please visit http://www.i-cat3d.com/3dimgcongress.asp.
