OrVance Announces Global Launch of OrthoDots Clear
OrVance announced at the annual Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program conference that OrthoDots Clear is now compliant for sales globally. The product will launch this fall with select global and regional partners and is compliant for sales in the U.S., Canada, the European Union, Australia and 24 other countries.

OrVance CEO Ron Schutt said the company prioritized its global compliance program because generic dental wax no longer complies with the quality and regulatory requirements in many leading orthodontic markets. The company also recently announced that it’s funding a free-product plan to all orthodontic resident programs in North America that are committed to improving the patient experience and to bringing orthodontic wax into compliance with the quality requirements of today’s health care products.

MidAtlantic Ortho Rebrands Passive Self-Ligating Bracket System
MidAtlantic Ortho recently announced plans to change the name of its passive self-ligation bracket and extra-broad wire system from FiT.20 to FiT20/26. The name change is intended to better represent the primary feature of the bracket’s .020-by-.026 slot size.

The slot size is designed to provide control throughout the working and finishing phases of treatment, according to the product’s inventor and clinical adviser, Dr. Robert Norris. The bracket system, which is manufactured using MIM engineering, features a reciprocal sliding door, integral ball hooks, a unique mechanical base design and ideal tie-wing span.
