This electronically delivered self-instructional program is designated for 1.5 hours of CE credit by Farran Media.
The fee to view this course is $36. This cost includes the fee to take the exam and claim your CE credits. Synopsis:
The title of this presentation may seem like a contradiction of terms, because there are many edgewise appliances that are used all over the world, but they are never intermaxillary. There are also many intermaxillary machines that are used routinely by all of us, but they are never edgewise! Dr.Jasper will explore this disconnect and look at all of the overjet appliances through the eyes of physics -- the ultimate in evidence. Description of Speaker:
Dr. J.J. Jasper has developed two fixed force systems that use the facial muscles to produce force vectors. His force modules have generated great interest all over the world and his post graduate seminar has been seen by thousands of orthodontists. He has lectured in 35 different countries and in 28 different states. He has also given courses to students and professors in 32 orthodontic universities.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:
Realize they are using uncontrolled, linear tipping forces with their current attempts to eliminate overjet. Understand that there can be only 4 categories of appliances possible. Choose the category that fits their treatment goals and treatment plans the best. Understand that 70°/o of our Class II patients need mandibular advancement instead of maxillary restraint. Decide if they really want an adolescent to run their treatment plans and office income. Disclosure:
The speaker declares that neither he nor any member of his family have a financial arrangement or affiliation with any corporate organization offering financial support or grant monies for this continuing dental education program. He does declare that he does have a financial interest in educating dental professionals.
