AAO Annual Session 2026 Heads to Orlando
The AAO Annual Session returns May 1–3, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, bringing orthodontists and their teams together for three days of CE, clinical education and connection. Programming will cover topics such as aligner therapy, airway management, orthognathic surgery, TADs, early treatment, AI, and 3D printing. Named award lectures will feature Drs. Roberto Hernández-Orsini, Maria Costanza Meazzini, Greg Huang, and Rolf Behrents.

The keynote event, “The AAO Show,” will feature Joey Fatone and Lance Bass in conversation with Dr. Anil Idiculla. Attendees can earn up to 21 CE credits with preconference programming, and networking events include alumni receptions, a global reception, and AAO Fest.

Henry Schein One Integrates iTero Scanners with Practice Management Platforms
Henry Schein One announced a direct integration between Align Technology’s iTero intraoral scanners and its Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Dentally practice management platforms. The integration automatically imports iTero scans into patient records to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and documentation workflows. Developed in collaboration with Align Technology, the integration is available to eligible customers in North America and select international markets, with additional regions planned pending regulatory clearance.

DentalMonitoring Raises $100M to Support AI Development and Global Expansion
DentalMonitoring announced it secured $100 million in new investment led by Lazard Elaia Capital, with participation from ISALT. The company, which focuses on AI-based remote orthodontic monitoring software, reported operational profitability in 2025. According to the announcement, the funding will support international expansion, product development, and research initiatives, as well as continued integration with orthodontic and dental technology platforms.

ADA Forms Task Force to Strengthen Specialty Collaboration
The American Dental Association has launched a Task Force on Specialty Engagement to improve collaboration between the ADA and dental specialty organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists. The group, chaired by orthodontist Dr. Randall Markarian, will identify opportunities for joint initiatives and strategies to increase specialist engagement within the ADA. Representatives from recognized specialties will participate, with recommendations expected to be presented to the ADA Board of Trustees later this year.
