3Shape Launches Open Clear Aligner Workflow
3Shape has launched an open clear aligner workflow that enables labs and practices to deliver treatment. According to the company, the open workflow puts labs and practitioners in charge of the budget and treatment.
Depending on the expertise of the lab or practice, it can either outsource design and production of the clear aligners to 3Shape partners, or design and produce in-house using 3Shape orthodontic software. The entire workflow, from scanning and treatment planning to setup and manufacturing, is implemented via 3Shape technology.
To support the design steps for providing the orthodontic setup and staging, 3Shape has made an investment in design services company FullContour. 3Shape has also partnered with Argen to provide production services for its dental lab partners.
