ST. PAUL, Minn.—Available Feb. 2017, 3M Incognito Brackets with Tip Bar enhance the Incognito Appliance System with extensions on the mesial and distal sides of the lingual bracket, increasing the bracket slot width to give better angulation control.

“We are excited to announce the launch of the new Incognito Brackets with Tip Bar,” says 3M Oral Care Marketing Manager of Custom Orthodontics, Diana Day. “As an organization, we strive to incorporate the feedback of our customers into the product development process—the new Incognito Brackets with Tip Bar is our answer to this valued feedback. This new development is the latest improvement in a series of ongoing innovations of the Incognito Appliance System.”

The new tip bar enhancement improves angulation control. The product supports increased demand from orthodontists for more controlled appliances and techniques, while meeting patient demand for invisible, comfortable and convenient orthodontic care.

“I evaluated the new Incognito Brackets with Tip Bar, with mesial and distal extensions to the slot on the lower canines and upper 3-to-3,” said Dr. Esfandiar Modjahedpour. “I found that this slot extension helps to control and correct the angulation of those teeth in the early stage of treatment. This product improvement will be essential to my future cases, especially considering the reduction in chair and treatment time.”

Other recent improvements to the Incognito Appliance System have maximized ease of use, efficiency and precision during lingual treatment:

• 3M AlastiK Lingual Ligatures improve ease of lingual bracket ligation while exhibiting the same wire fixation and force as an overtie. When used as plain ties, AlastiK Lingual Ligatures apply similar tip control compared to overties with powerchain.
• The 3M Incognito Clear Precision Tray is manufactured from digital data used for bracket design, resulting in improved deviation compared with trays using manual positioning. This tray also allows for easy visual control during the bonding process, and can be cut and used for accurately replacing individual brackets.
• A lower arch attachment for the 3M Forsus Fatigue Resistant Device and a special archwire sequence (available with either 3M Forsus EZ2 or L-pin Modules) efficiently simplifies installation, reduces chair time and provides effective Class II correction that is 100 percent customized for the patient.

The option of Incognito Brackets with Tip Bar can be ordered through the 3M Unitek Treatment Management Portal, an orthodontic software platform for digital model management, treatment planning and ordering. The brackets are also compatible with the Incognito Clear Precision Tray for indirect bonding.
