LADERA RANCH, Calif.—Matt Prados, founder of Review Wave, and his team recently partnered with the national nonprofit Smiles Change Lives (SCL) to help kids in need get braces.

Review Wave is the developer of a software that helps businesses manage their online reviews. SCL is a nonprofit that helps kids receive orthodontic treatment when their families can not afford the full cost. Founded in 1997, SCL, together with its network of approximately 800 volunteer orthodontists, has helped more than 10,000 kids get braces.

Principals of each organization met at the American Association of Orthodontics Annual Session in April. Review Wave was demonstrating its software to orthodontists and SCL was recruiting and visiting with orthodontists who donate their time to the program. After learning more about Review Wave, SCL revealed that it was searching for someone who could help with a technology issue that was slowing down the processing of its online applications from families interested in the program.

“We were looking for someone that could write an interface connecting information coming from our online applications with our practice management software, Dolphin Management and Imaging Solutions,” said Melanie Johnston, SCL marketing director. “Matt and his team filled the bill perfectly. They had already integrated their solutions with a number of orthodontic software systems.”

As a result of the code that Review Wave wrote for SCL, SCL’s online applications will automatically be entered into its practice management software where program specialists can easily communicate with families about the program. Previously, countless hours were spent by the staff manually reviewing and entering information, which has now been freed up to focus on recruiting and placing more kids into the program.

In acknowledgment of the company's donated time, Review Wave earned recognition as an SCL sponsor. In addition, Review Wave has agreed to be an SCL Business Partner and will provide discounts and other benefits to orthodontists who participate in the SCL program. SCL works with numerous business partners that offer donated or discounted goods and services to orthodontists in its network, to assist them in treating kids through the SCL program.
