You Should Know: Solomon Orthodontic Systems

Orthotown Magazine sat down with Jennifer Harding, CEO of Solomon Orthodontic Systems, to discuss what the
company is all about and why you should know it.
How did the company start?
Harding: Solomon Orthodontic Systems (SOS) was
founded by Dr. Bill Pickard, a clinical director with more than
40 years of orthodontic experience. As other dental professionals
and practice groups observed the success of his practice and
the innovative approach to marketing and practice excellence,
the decision was made to share the legacy. We then started a
practice enhancement group to help other orthodontists and
dentists grow and develop from great to even better!
Tell us about the various services and products
you offer.
Harding: As an innovative and creative team, SOS is a constantly
growing and developing company. One thing that makes
us unique is that our team is experienced in the field. We know
the challenges faced by dental professionals and we like to
approach each challenge with a solution that is tailor-made for
each practice. We offer a range of services that we provide either
à la carte or within an ongoing retainer. We also have a range of
products that have been created to solve common ongoing practice
challenges. We want our clients to know that if they have an
idea or concept they would like to try, we can help. Services
include: graphic design and branding, referral strategy, social
media coaching, custom apparel and much more! Our current
practice enhancement products, such as Smeethy, GrinCam,
Bounceback and SmileStar, will be joined by many more products
currently in development for a 2013 launch.
What is your "listen, plan, launch, grow" strategy?
How does it work?
Harding: Because SOS is focused on clients and what their
needs are, we have developed the "listen, plan, launch, grow"
strategy. Listening to our clients and their needs is first and foremost,
the most important aspect of our company. We listen to
what our clients need for their unique practices and then help
them develop a plan to most successfully accomplish their goals
with the help of our products and services. Once the plan is
developed, we work alongside each client as if we are an extension
of their practice. We help where help is needed, but will train and mentor their team to implement their plan in order to
achieve optimal success. The final part of the process is for the
practice to grow. We feel the ultimate success comes from the
practice, so we allow the practice to take our ideas and use them
to its greatest potential.
What sets you apart from your competition?
Harding: SOS is made of a specialized and experienced
team of "out-of-the-box" thinkers. With our clinical background,
we approach each practice as an individual entity, focusing
on its unique needs as if it was our only practice. Our clients
are in control, choosing the level of service we provide and the
length of time they would like that service and freeing them to
pick and choose what they need to make their practice as successful
as possible. We have found that there are some doctors
who want it all done for them, some who just want to be shown
how to do it and others who just want the program and instruction
manual. We have built our business around bringing these
relevant services and products to the industry in a way that
serves each of their needs.
What is in store in the future for SOS?
Harding: It will be worth the wait to stay tuned to Solomon
Orthodontic Systems over the next year! With several exciting
products currently in development, there are solutions coming
your way! Also, our beautiful, new, custom apparel for the dental
profession will launch early in 2013.
We will continue to expand to serve clinics around the country
and develop our innovative solutions to make them available
at reasonable prices to bring them greater practice success.
